Ok, I have to admit it. I never knew this, but the clock in London that is oft referred to as ‘Big Ben’ is not ‘Big Ben’ at all. The name is actually reserved for the bell inside the tower of the ‘Great Clock of Westminster’. Big Ben has a fascinating history which can be found at the White Chapel Bell Foundry website. The great bell just celebrated it’s 150th birthday on April 10th.
